After ‘The Exorcist’ Linda Blair Encountered ‘Evil’ Pit Bull Who Changed Her Life’s Direction

Most people know Linda Blair as the terrifying, head-spinning, expletive-spewing little girl from the 1973 horror movie The Exorcist. But at 58 years old, Linda’s identity has become so much more than an iconic film role.

Linda kept working in Hollywood during the ’80s and ’90s, but a chance encounter with a stray dog changed everything.

Linda was immediately nervous when she noticed a big, intimidated pit bull following her home. At the time, there was an even greater stigma against pit bulls than there is now, and the media had painted a picture of the breed as vicious and evil.

Thinking the dog wanted to attack and kill her, Linda ran home as fast as possible and locked herself inside.

But as she rushed her own dog safely into the house, the pit bull slowly wandered up her driveway.

In the video below, courtesy of Oprah: Where Are They Now? Linda describes the realization she soon made about this poor stray and how it led her to change the course of her life forever.
