When the two pups in the photos below first met at an animal hospital, they formed an instant bond.
Olaf, a bull mastiff, is a large dog who was bitten by a snake and surrendered to a shelter because they were unable to care for him or pay his medical costs.
When he was brought in for surgery, he met a little pup named Mariah. Mariah had been abandoned in a parking lot on Christmas Eve at only six weeks old and was freezing to death.
When a kind-hearted soul found her, he took her to the hospital but she was struggling to maintain a constant body temperature, and it did not look like she would survive.
That’s when the shelter decided to pair Mariah with Olaf. Olaf needed a buddy to recover with, and Mariah needed a source of constant body heat, and with Olaf’s large size, she got plenty of that.
The two are now best buddies who care for each other and play together, keeping the other’s hopes up while they recover.
