This is a story about Sadie, a beautiful little girl, who suffers from Type One diabetes and Down’s Syndrome and her therapy dog, Hero!
Because of Sadie’s ailments, her family decided to get a special Labrador, one who is actually trained to detect a human’s blood-sugar levels.
Sadie was in school one day in Cedar Hills, Utah, when Hero suddenly started acting strangely.
Sadie’s mother, Michelle said: “He’s normally a very quiet dog. Whining is not in his protocol.But he just started whining and he would not stop.”
That’s when Michelle realized that Hero was trying to tell her something. Despite Sadie being five miles away, Hero knew her blood-sugar levels were low. Michelle immediately texted Sadie’s teacher thanks to their savior dog, Hero!
Hero, who is appropriately named, saved Sadie’s life from five miles away!
