Mailman Approaches Neighborhood’s ‘Most Dangerous’ Dog And Doesn’t Know He’s Being Filmed

Here’s another reminder that you should never judge a book by its cover.

Kyza is a 9-month-old German shepherd. His owner, Michael, says Kyza always gets overlooked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog. And while Kyza rarely barks, Michael believes he is prejudged because of his intimidating size and breed.

Recently, Michael let Kyza run around the backyard of their home in New Zealand — and he made sure to have the camera on his phone rolling when the mailman, Steve, rode by on his bicycle.

That’s because every day, whether or not Michael has mail, this particular mailman stops to see Kyza. Rain or shine, Steve goes out of his way to stop by Michael’s house, hop off his bike, and give the dog a friendly hug and a pat. Kyza, as you’re about to see, absolutely savors these precious moments with Steve and proves he’s not as scary as the folks in his neighborhood may think.

Michael’s hidden camera clip of Steve and Kyza is quickly going viral, revealing a sweet and simple moment between a kindhearted man and a very misunderstood dog.

“I’m not sure who to tag on Facebook for him to see this!” Michael wrote on Facebook. “But thanks man, keep up the good job and you’ve definitely got a friend waiting for ya!!”
