After a 7-month long winter of hibernation, this mother bear emerged with two bear cubs. The winter’s den was 16 feet off the forest floor in a tree.
In this breathtaking video from Wild Alaska – BBC, the mother bear patiently waits for her young ones to find their way down the tall tree for the first time.
The two 12-week-old brave sibling attempt to take a few steps and get their bearings. Thanks to their strong claws and the black bear’s natural climbing instinct, they were able to reunite with their mother.
