Peacocks are traditionally covered in royal blue and emerald green feathers. However, every once in awhile, you may see one of these beautiful birds completely stripped of its coloring. The white peacock or “albino” loves to show off his feathers too!
The magnificent bird in the video below is missing a pigment. His eyes are blue. Therefore, he is not a “true” albino peacock because he would have reddish eyes. This peacock has a genetic mutation called “leucism” that causes a decrease in pigment. In other words, it causes a complete lack of pigment in plumage, leaving him with blue eyes.
