Endangered Sumatran Tiger Gave Birth To Twins

According to worldwildlife.org, Sumatran Tigers, are the smallest surviving tiger subspecies. They are native to Indonesia and have the familiar orange coats with black stripes. Presently, there are less than 400 wild tigers left; making them an endangered species. Poaching and deforestation have both contributed to their decline.

Melati a pregnant Sumatran Tiger is living at the ZSL London Zoo recently gave birth to twins! Jae Jae, the father, was nearby for the entire birth!  Andjar Rafiastanto, the country manager at a Sumatran conservation organization, said the birth of two Sumatran tiger cubs gives hope that the species may survive!
