The brave soldiers of the 89th Military Police Battalion have two more heroes get awarded for their actions in Afghanistan. Army Spc. Andrew Brown, and his military service dog, Rocky, were wounded in action. Both are being treated at the same hospital, side by side!
While searching a location, both were injured by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). They were both lucky to survive the blast, but were sent back to the USA for medical care. When they arrived at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, the two paused for a photo shoot; Rocky even wore his new Purple Heart.
SPC Brown and Rocky are both doing well after being treated for their injuries. SPC Brown arrived at Walter Reed where his family met him. Rocky is expected to return to Fort Hood soon.
