Randy Grim, the founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, saw the worst case of animal cruelty and was in tears when he saw an emaciated dog who had been shot at point-blank range in the face. A good Samaritan notified the rescue and Grim went out and picked the dog up named Nickles.
Nickels had been starved to near death, and half of his muzzle was missing from the gunshot wound. It does not like a new injury in the video, but Nickles has been suffering for some time. Grim rushed Nickles to the veterinary hospital, and he was fighting for his life. The incident occurred at the intersection of Sullivan and Jefferson in St. Louis.
