An Owl Lands Next To A Dog And Uses Her Beak To Do Something Remarkable

Louise the Eurasian Eagle-owl (nicknamed Wee) and Annie the bird dog share a special bond.  This video reminds us that compassion and consideration for others is not a uniquely human trait.

At the time this video was shot, Wee was still a baby, but Eurasian Eagle owls are among the largest species of owls. Adult owls range from 23-29″ in length and their wingspan varies between 60-79″ but they are typically shy and good-natured birds despite their massive size. Their most recognizable traits are their prominent tufted ears and powerful talons. When you consider how her talons are typically implemented in hunting, Wee’s tenderness toward Annie is made all the more noteworthy.
