Abused And Neglected Circus Tiger Finally Finds A Loving Home

Aasha, a Bengal tiger, weighed just 30 pounds at nine-months-old.

Vicky Keahey, the founder of In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center, in Texas found out about Aasha from an inspector from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The inspector asked Keahey to check on Aasha and rescue her.

Aasha lived in a cage with a larger tiger who often picked on her. Both tigers belonged to a traveling circus.

Ater the USDA inspection of the circus, it was determined that the animals were not being taken care of properly, especially Aasha.

Keahey agreed to take Aasha to In-Sync.

When Aasha first arrived, she was covered in bald spots, and her skin was dry and cracked.

Her skin was bleeding and Aasha had ringworm.

Aasha also had bite marks from the other tiger.

With a lot of TLC and medication, Aasha began to grow bigger and healthier!

It only took eight months for Aasha to look like a real tiger! Keahey decided to try and see how Aasha would interact with other tigers.

They put Aasha next to a tiger named Smuggler. He fell in love with her!

Smuggler is three times the size of Aasha!

Aasha and Smuggler previously had supervised playdates before they were moved in together!

It has been four years now and Aasha has become a confident adult tiger who loves a good soak in the water!
