The 6.2 magnitude earthquake Itlay endured in late August has devastatingly taken the lives of nearly 300 people. Thousands of people have lost their homes, and entire cities were destroyed. Romeo, a golden retriever, was pulled out of the rubble nine days after the earthquake, completely unharmed!
Firefighters said Romeo looked like he had just woken up from a nap. Romeo’s owners got out of the house uninjured and were forced to evacuate the area and leave Romeo behind. After a week, the family was allowed to return to their home, and they did not expect to hear Romeo barking.
Because a beam had fallen, it prevented the house from collapsing on Romeo! He was able to find a small open space to lay in, and all he had to do was wait to be rescued!
