After Deadly Earthquakes Hit Mexico, Hero Dog Risks Her Life Rescuing People

The Mexican state of Oaxaca was hit with the strongest earthquake it’s seen in over a century on September 8, 2017.

The quake has so far claimed over 200 lives countrywide after registering at an 8.1 on the Richter scale. It’s hard to get an exact number at this point in time, as rescue efforts are still underway.

Thousands have lost their homes, with structures crumbling to piles of rubble. It’s a huge tragedy that will years to restore and recover from. Volunteers, military, and rescue groups are currently working hard to find the missing and to distribute necessities like clothing and water.

However, there is one member of the Mexican Navy that is getting a lot of praise for her work…her name is Frida, and she’s a Labrador retriever on a mission.

If it weren’t for Frida 52 more people would be dead.

Frida has been out there trying to save people in life-threatening situations.
