Animals have been known to have superior weather-detecting capabilities, much better than humans. That is why dogs, horses, and birds tend to kick up a fuss before a big thunderstorm or another major weather event; they know something is happening. We do not know exactly how they do it, but they may sense changes in air pressure, or hear sounds at a frequency beyond what human ears are capable of.
Imgur user Amscolie was preparing ahead for an incoming storm when she left her back door open. She checked outside first to see if the deer she cares for were anywhere around. That is when she discovered the unimaginable in her living room!
Three baby fawns snuck into her house sneaking shelter from the storm. While she was outside looking to bring them somewhere safe, the deer had wandered into her house.
Amscolie explains, “I raise orphaned wildlife. Recently, the back door was open as a storm was coming. The deer were nowhere to be found. Went inside, was heading to the front door, only to see them next to an end table in the living room. Told them they could sleep in the house for the night because it was going to be nasty.”
Any pet owner would be worried if she couldn’t locate her animals before bad weather, but these deer knew exactly what they needed to do.
According to Amsoclie, the deer showed their gratitude with lots of exuberant kisses!
“But how could you ever say no to a face like this?”
