While a Russian farmer was wandering his property, he came across four kittens that did not look like your average cats.
The farmer contacted the Daursky Nature Reserve to see if they knew what breed of cats they were. The cats who had not even opened their eyes yet were taken to the Reserve and identified as Pallas’s cats.
They are a wildcat breed native to Central Asia and sometimes called manuls.
Manuls grow to be the same size as your house cats, but are stockier and have shorter legs. Their hair is thicker because they’re built to survive in cold, harsh environments.
They also have wider faces and flatter ears than house cats. The Reserve had two momma domestic cats nurse the wild babies.
