Once there was an earless senior cat waiting at a shelter. People just passed him by, until one day, a young woman saw him and fell in love. Molly Lichtenwalner is a graduate student, and she was looking for a way to help ease her anxiety. The anxiety started after she was in a car accident.
She decided that the best way to help with her anxiety would be to adopt a furry friend to snuggle with.
Molly had grown up on a farm and cats had always been a big part of her life.
She told herself that she would adopt an adult cat with special needs because those are the ones that have a harder time finding homes.
On Petfinder, Molly saw a 9 and a half-year-old cat with an unusual look. His name was Otitis, and she knew he was the one for her!
When she reached out to the shelter that was fostering him (the Feline Rescue Association of Baltimore), she found out that Otitis had to have his ears removed because of large cysts.
His previous owner couldn’t afford treatment, and they surrendered him.
Otitis is deaf, but that doesn’t bother Molly.
They changed each others’ lives!
Otitis watches over his new mom when she sleeps and is always close by.
