When the Coast Guard witnessed a dog jumping out of a window into the frozen waters of Lake Betsie in Frankfort, Michigan, they immediately jumped into action.
They knew if the dog was not rescued right away he would freeze to death. It took them nearly twenty minutes to get to the dog and rescue him from the freezing waters. Because the lake was covered in chunks and plates of ice, the rescue was a little more difficult. The poor dog was tired and shaking, but they managed to get her to a shelter in time to recover.
Thankfully, her owner came to claim her when she discovered her dog had been missing that morning.
