When the wildfires were approaching Fort McMurray, Canada about 100,000 people were forced to leave their homes. It was thought the fires would burn for many months, and the people had to evacuate immediately.
Canadian Airlines, including Canadian North, had an incredible idea, they allowed pets to ride in the planes, but not in a cage in the cargo section – in coach!
The Scott family was evacuating with their cat, Meow Meow. That’s when Mrs. Scott went into labor and the family had to leave Meow Meow with Canadian North Flight Operations so the Scotts could get to the hospital.
Meow Meow was a guest for a few days in the Canadian North office.
The eventually gave her a name tag!
Meow Meow soon appeared on Facebook and Twitter and went viral. The Scott family was able to see how she was doing!
One of Meow Meow’s responsibilities was checking to see if the coffee maker had been turned off at the end of the day!
When the Scotts returned home to Calgary, Meow Meow was reunited with her family!
The Scotts were grateful that the Canadian North Flight Operations team was willing to watch their fur baby!
