Cynthia Bennett an avid hiker, and her boyfriend adopted a dog named Henry in 2014. Bennett liked the golden retriever mix. When she met Henry, he was just a 14-week-old puppy, but so much larger than the other pups his age. When she entered the house, he curled up in Bennett’s lap.
“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike,” Bennett said. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.” That’s when they began calling him their “little mountain goat.”
Bennett wanted to rescue a kitten, and after searching for five months at various shelters, they found a Siamese kitten mix called “Baloo.”
When Baloo met Henry, it was love at first sight! Henry loved the kitten and began playing with her right away.
It was not long before Baloo went on his trip with the family. “I get a lot of questions about how we got him used to it. But he really loves it. He really wants to go outside,” Bennett said. “If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door.”
