We’ve all seen videos or pictures of these weird, or at least unexpected, bondings between animals that not only are from different species, but many times also supposed to be enemies. There’s no easy explanation for why this happens with both wild and domesticated animals. According to Wikipedia, the impetus of these friendships is unique to each relationship, but they include mutually beneficial exchanges, a need for protection and the urge for social bonding. Other times it can be due to maternal instinct, even when one of the pair is normally predatory towards the other. Some people even say that interactions like these are the proof that animals are capable of complex feelings beyond pure instinct.
Since these relationships occur randomly, it’s not easy to discern the reasons behind them. However, we don’t have to have a reason to enjoy seeing these animals loving each other as they do. This is definitely worth seeing.
Be sure to watch it to the end so you can be as touched as we are by the interaction of these adorable friends! Share your feelings with us in the comment section below.
